Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes

Our Events Portal, UKNetworker Community, and our quarterly event are all going through major changes at the same time this month!

It’s unavoidable, but all for the best, and will ensure we deliver a solid and useful service for our members in the years to come. These will be the last ‘major’ changes for a while, apart from continuing as usual to develop and improve the finer details of our core services.

UKNetworker Business Event

We’ve had to cancel our planned event for May 2024 – and future events – because of unavoidable (but happy) team member circumstances. Meaning that we can’t hold our own event for the foreseeable future.

We never meant to provide our own event originally, but our Launch Event went down so well with people, we decided to continue, with the UKNetworker Business Event. And even held an experimental and successful Well-being Event for people interested in the well-being sector.

Thank you to all members, guests and partners for coming along to the events we held. And thank you to all the amazing people (too many to list here) who helped out, or displayed their quality try-and-buy products, or entertained us with music, magic, yoga, hypnosis, virtual reality experiences and more.

For the future, where events are concerned, we’ll be focussing fully on the promotion of, and news about the many other great business and networking events, happening all the time – in your area and across the country.

The Events Portal

Due to the complexities and countless variables involved in listing individual events from various sources, we were having difficulties in providing the level of service we want to give our members.

So, finally, the Events Portal is changing, to bring you information about upcoming events in a different way. This should all be in place during May.

Instead of individual events being listed, the Portal will be listing Event Organisers. This will enable us to provide thousands of listings on behalf of organisers across the country, and ensure members are able to always access the accurate, latest information about events, directly from the organisers.

The Portal will still bring together events information from across the internet into one central place – and have the same advanced searching/filtering tools to narrow down the right organisers and events for you.

It will also be an even more excellent resource for anyone looking to find, research or target business event organisers.

The UKNetworker Community

The Community space is fully in place now, and the main change there in May – as well as a great improvement for the website as a whole – is that we’ve also migrated the website to a new web host for more security and much faster page download speeds! And website performance is being improved even more than that.

Our private Community provides a number of benefits over major platforms like LinkedIn. Including:

No Ads

Enjoy a business social platform with no advertisements. No advertisers targeting you (often incorrectly) using your personal/business data collected by the platform through your profile. Promotional content can be posted by members, but a close eye is kept on this, and other members are able to report any spamming.

No Algorithm

No algorithmic bias! Unlike the major social platforms, the UKNetworker Community won’t force-feed you the most popular content, overshadowing valuable “less engaging” content. Nor will it only show your content to a small percentage of your own connections, and so on. Instead, the UKNetworker Community gives equal visibility to diverse content, for inclusivity and effectiveness. Members can do their own easy filtering at any time, to prioritise the content they’re viewing.

Designed for Effective Networking

LinkedIn’s domination in the professional online networking space brings a heavy reliance on LinkedIn, and limits people’s exploration of other platforms or networking methods for business purposes. The UKNetworker Community is small, member focused, purely about networking (no job market etc.), and provides an alternative or additional way to develop your business network and relationships that’s worth investigating.

And More Benefits

Various other benefits will be in another Post soon, and on the website…

Here for You

We understand that some of these changes may turn some people away, but they are needed, so that UKNetworker can continue to grow into a valuable resource for UK Networkers.

We’re looking forward to continuing the building of the service, and hope you can join us on the journey!
